Food which can be hunted and gathered by humans is only included in the Paleo diet and this is one of its major benefits. Grains and the majority of starches are some foods, which do not form part of the Paleo diet. Even though all available natural foods are not included in Paleo diet, it still comprises only natural food. The days of caveman were not spent hunting for frozen pepperoni pizzas or gathering Twinkies.
Lack of food byproducts – Furthermore, the byproducts from various food sources, such as sugar from sugar cane, wouldn’t be allowed in a Paleo Diet. Many of these byproducts are unhealthy, and can create various unwanted results. This is particularly true of modern processed and prepackaged foods, which often contain a Frankensteinian list of manmade ingredients.
Weight loss – Some benefits of the Paleo diet also includes weight loss and this is claimed to be experienced by those who follow it. Foods such as fruits, vegetables, grains, bread, pasta and rice contain carbohydrates and these are a big no in the Paleo diet.
